Your support for the formation of a Regional Fire Authority ensures that our communities will continue to receive the high level of fire and emergency medical service you deserve — and that our department will remain whole, strong, and ready to respond.

Your firefighters urge you to VOTE YES on Proposition 2 if you live in Washougal or Camas. Ballots must be placed in a dropbox before 8:00 PM on November 4th or be postmarked by November 4th if you are returning your ballot by mail.
We support Proposition 2 because the formation of a Regional Fire Authority would:
AVOID REDUCED SERVICE LEVELS TO THE PUBLIC
PROVIDE TRANSPARENT FUNDING & MANAGEMENT OF YOUR FIRE DEPARTMENT
MOVE YOUR FIRE DEPARTMENT CLOSER TO INDUSTRY STANDARD STAFFING AND STATE STATUTES THAT GOVERN EMERGENCY OPERATIONS

Your firefighters urge you to carefully consider your vote on Proposition 2 in Camas and Washougal.
A YES vote will avoid decreased fire and EMS services, provide fiscal accountability through governance solely focused on the fire department's operation, and allow public safety to keep pace with the community's growth and needs.
If Proposition 2 fails to pass, the cities of Camas and Washougal have stated that they will not renew the interlocal agreement under which the Camas Washougal Fire Department operates. This would result in a decreased service level and continued operation of the fire department by city government. This would continue the cycle of city government underfunding your fire department and low levels of staffing.

The IAFF Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health Treatment and Recovery is a one-of-a-kind addiction treatment facility specializing in PTSD for IAFF members – and IAFF members only – who are struggling with addiction, PTSD other related behavioral health challenges to receive the help they need in taking the first steps toward recovery. It is a safe haven for members to talk with other members who have faced or overcome similar challenges.
